Lenovo Dress

Lenovo Services is proud to be a supporting partner of local non-profit, Dress for Success Triangle. Founded in April of 2008, DFS promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, and a network of support and career development tools to help women succeed in work and in life.

Over the course of the last year, the Lenovo Services team has provided a wide breadth of support through important initiatives such as apparel drives, mock interviews, and onsite training for DFS clients.

Our apparel drives alone have collected over:
2,300 pieces of clothing
190 pairs of shoes
100 shoulder bags/handbags
And LOTS of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, belts and thumbdrives

In both June and September, Lenovo volunteers conducted onsite training focused on effective networking techniques as a component of DFS’ Going Places Network (GPN) by Wal-Mart, a 10-week program designed to help participants gain and maintain meaningful employment. Sixty percent of the women who complete the program find employment within six months of enrolling – often after years of sea. Sixty percent of the women who complete the program find employment within six months of enrolling – often after years of searching.

To honor these great women, graduation ceremonies were held following the training for over 30 DFS clients who had successfully completed the 10-week GPN program. Family members and Lenovo volunteers who played an instrumental part in the journey also attended.

Beth Segovia, Executive Director of World Wide Services has this to say about Lenovo’s work with these amazing ladies, “It is difficult to describe the momentum and impact this partnership has. Perhaps the greatest achievement is the opportunity we have had to welcome some of these talented women to the Lenovo team. We are honored to celebrate these achievements and look forward to even more involvement in the future.”
